Roof Insulation
Specialist insulation for all roof types — including loft, pitched roof, flat roof, and room-in-roof spaces — reducing heat loss and improving your home's energy efficiency.
Overview
What Is Roof Insulation?
Up to 25% of a home's heat can be lost through an uninsulated roof. Whether your property has a standard loft, a room in the roof, a flat roof, or a pitched roof with no accessible loft space, Legacy Retrofit Solutions has the expertise to insulate it correctly and compliantly.
Not all roofs are the same, and a one-size-fits-all approach to insulation simply does not work. Our surveyors assess the construction and condition of your roof before specifying the most appropriate insulation system — ensuring maximum thermal performance and compliance with building regulations.
For standard loft spaces, we install mineral wool insulation to the recommended 270mm depth. For room-in-roof and pitched roof constructions, we use rigid board or spray foam systems between and beneath rafters. Flat roofs receive cold-deck or warm-deck insulation depending on roof construction and access requirements.

Common Questions
FAQs
Can you insulate a flat roof?
Yes. We install insulation on flat roofs using either warm-deck or cold-deck methods depending on the roof construction and your requirements.
What is a room-in-roof?
A room-in-roof is a habitable room built into the roof space — such as a converted loft. This requires specialist insulation between and beneath the rafters rather than at floor level.
Will loft insulation affect storage space?
Standard loft insulation is laid between and over the joists. If you use your loft for storage, we can discuss options such as rigid board over joists to preserve usable space while maintaining insulation performance.
How do I know what type of roof I have?
Our surveyor will identify this during the initial property assessment. There is no need for you to determine this in advance.
